Gear Up CDL Training (GUCT) offers a wide range of CDL training and classes. Our company was established in 2020 with instructors that have over 18 years of combined commercial driving and training experience.
Our goal is to be a one-stop facility for all CDL driver needs – from permit preparation and ELDT theory to behind-the-wheel training, truck rental for your MVA road test, and endorsements. Gear Up CDL Training provides private commercial driver education to students throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.
We are positioned as a cost-effective training facility with excellent service, providing high-quality classroom instruction and on-the-road driving experience designed to help our students successfully pass all licensing exams and tests, and to step confidently into a solid career within the commercial driving industry.

Our mission is to prepare safe, professional CDL drivers who are ready for the road, ready for employers, and ready for long-term success. We combine real-world driving experience, up-to-date FMCSA Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) standards, and personalized coaching to make sure every student gets the support they need from permit to road test.

Our programs are built around the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) requirements for CDL Class A and B licenses, as well as several key endorsements.
Students move through three core stages:
Permit Preparation
Focused study, practice questions, and instructor support to help you pass General Knowledge, Air Brakes, and Combination vehicle exams.
ELDT Theory
Online and classroom modules that cover safety, regulations, hours-of-service, vehicle systems, cargo securement, and more.
Behind-the-Wheel Training
Range and road driving with experienced instructors, practicing shifting, backing, turning, lane changes, and emergency maneuvers.
From there, we provide truck rental packages and test preparation so you walk into your MVA road test confident and ready.
FMCSA ELDT-compliant training for Class A & B
4-week evening Class A program designed for working adults (M–F, 4pm–7pm)
